Don't Feel Like Making Your Own 80's Video Game Costume? No Problem!

OK....so you never got into art class and you would rather just whip out the plastic and pay for a classic 80's video game costume for your party. Fair enough. If you think back to the 80's and try to remember some of the most popular video game characters which one's come to mind? For me, this was an absolute no-brainer.

  • PacMan- This little fella came out way back in 1981 and he rocked the world for several years after that. The game spun off a slew of sequels including the famous Ms. Pacman. There are several ways that you could spin this costume idea into a winner.
  • Mario- Mario might very well be the most famous video game character of all time. He also made his video game debut in 1981 in the classic arcade game Donkey Kong. His claim to fame however is the Super Mario Brothers series which everybody started playing on the NES in the mid-80's.

Both of these costume idea's can easily be done but their are some additional ideas you should consider that could really make these costume idea's memorable. To see these ideas visit How To Plan The Perfect 80's Party.

Wow, thanks for this! It gave me a quick trip down to memory lane. Pacman, Donkey Kong, Tetris, Space Invaders -- they were my favorite games back then. My wife's favorite character was Wonder Woman. Of course, she can't dress like that anymore, so she just made a conservative version of the costume using some old pieces of clothing and her Forever Young wigs for our daughter. It's always a hit during the Halloween.
